Gates' Poly Chain® GT Carbon™ is a Polyurethane Synchronous belt manufactured with carbon tensile cords (patented by Gates), suitable for low-speed, high-torque transmissions.
Gates engineers have pioneered the development of a belt with a carbon-fibre tensile strength cord. The Poly Chain® GT Carbon™ belt is the most powerful in the driving belt field. It requires no maintenance, preserves the environment and saves energy. It is the ideal replacement for roller chains.

Construction
- The new robust, lightweight polyurethane compound in the base Belt is resistant to chemicals and guarantees optimum adhesion to carbon tensile cords
- Carbon fibers provide high strength with even greater resistance to impact and fatigue strength
- The nylon coating protects the teeth and minimizes friction losses.
The curvilinear profile of the toothing improves stress distribution and supports a higher total load

- Poly Chain® GT Carbon™ High Temperature
A special polyurethane compound offers excellent thermal resistance.
It enables the Belt to remain fully operational at extreme temperatures up to 120°C and even 140°C for short periods; - Poly Chain® GT Carbon™ Hot Oil
A special polyurethane compound offers superb resistance to oil and heat, ensuring perfect operation in oily environments at temperatures up to 120°C (suitable for angle drives, gearboxes...)
